day 3-end of demolition...

The last day of demolition started with the pick up of the last of what no one else wanted. Our love seat was rejected by the salvation army and we got rid of all the rusty patio furniture in the back yard. Our trash company allows for 4 free pick ups a year. We wondered why we didn't call them sooner. It felt so good to finally get rid of the last bit of junk.

Laundry room. We are looking forward to a new washer and dryer. They were new when we got married 17 years ago. The washer does not have hot water any more. Only cold comes out. We will have to wait till November for the new ones. It is one of the things we are looking forward to the most. We were getting hot water from the powder room and added it to the washer.

Powder room.

TV hole. We are adding a granite shelf and a wine cooler on the bottom instead of a storage cabinet. We still are not 100% sure of how this will turn out. We can see lots of extra space in the back and sides. We are thinking there are still some possibilities here.

Farewell to the most useless item in our house. The powder room toilet. We are so happy to see it go. It has caused us more grief than anything in our house. Always a problem. Especially for Jeff, since he used it the most and when guests came to stay at our house. We dreaded them asking, do you have a plunger??? Jeff said he will pay any amount of money to purchase the best and most powerful flushing toilet on the market.

This picture is dedicated to Marissa, who always hated the carpet on the stairs and always wanted to help clean it. Yes, it was horrible and we didn't clean it cause it was too hard and no matter what we did it always looked bad. Now it will be wood.

Dinning room.

The demolition is finally over. In the end the workers did an awesome job of cleaning up. There is still some dust and our house still stinks (of dirt or something). It's sort of sad to have nothing left in the downstairs and it's shocking. It will be the start of a new beginning.
