kcc farmers market

check out kcc farmers market website click on the highlighted below:

we learned about kcc farmers market (located next to the inland side of diamond head crater) from our favorite hawaiian food blog (tastyisland). looked so good we knew that we had to go there. the only problem is its only open on saturday and from 7:30am to 11am. we are not early risers so it would not be an easy task for us. we got there and were happy we did. Boy was it hot and humid. Wish we would have gotten there earlier to beat the heat.

it was very crowded. both locals and tourists...

over all it wasn't very big. for sale were flowers, veggies (not too many), honey, bakery items and lots of food stands.

a must try according to tastyisland was the grilled pesto (macadamia) pizza

it was good but expensive at $6.50 per slice...

this place sold lunches that included fish. salmon, butter fish, miso fish etc. they also made fresh salmon fried rice.

of course we had to try it. pretty good...

more food for sale. there was so much to choose from we wanted to try everything. it was so hot and we were sweating a lot, which made it hard to enjoy our food.

this stand had one of the longest lines...

that does not look good!!!

this stand also had long lines and looked good so we tried this too.

we didn't know what to get so we opted for the combo of onion rings, zucchini
and fried green tomatoes

out of all of the stuff we ate and it was a lot, the fried green tomatoes were the best.

the end. will go back again next trip...

Fried green tomatoes are so good. Have you ever made them, Lisa?
