so many decisions

This is our final design of the kitchen. Click on the photo to see it larger. We didn't realize that there are so many decisions to make in remodeling a kitchen. These are just a few of our choices so far. Our new appliances will be 2 Viking wine coolers and a Viking dishwasher. Next weekend we will be getting our sample cabinet doors to approve for color and design.

A few weeks ago we made our first big purchase for the kitchen. A Shaw fireclay farm sink. It weighs about 135 pounds. We had to clean the garage to make some room to store it.

This is our sink in the kitchen show room where we purchased it.

The sink inside the box.

Leg choice for end of peninsula. We didn't like any of these choices so we got rid of them from the design. We later found a leg we like on the web site and put the legs back in.

This was the corbel (it will support the granite over hang on the peninsula)we first picked but again, for now we picked a different one that has a little more detail on the side. It sort of matches the leg.

For the last couple of weeks we have been buying and returning knobs and pulls from Restoration Hardware. We have narrowed it down and will make a decision after we receive our sample doors next week. For now our favorite is the Maddox knob and the Lugarno pull. (click on the words to see them).

Base board samples. So far we like the middle one the best. Still waiting for 4 more samples.

new flower

Bought this nice hydrangea at Trader Joe's. Thought it was a good price and we wanted to get rid of the old ones in our garden that were not looking very good. We have not worked in the garden for a while and the flowers need some TLC.

Jeff working hard to dig out the old hydrangea.

Almost done.

In the ground and ready to grow. So cute.

fresh picked

Drove by the stand today and decided to get some corn for dinner.

Could not resist these strawberry's. They were good but a lot better the last time I got some.

Fresh picked corn.

Corn was very sweet and yummy.

holes, holes and more holes

We are starting our big kitchen remodel with lots of holes. Our kitchen designer had to figure out if we can make a new built in hutch and if we can get rid of the sofetts. We want the new cabinets that go all the way to the ceiling . A structural engineer came to our house and told us that this is a sheer wall and we can't have a built in pantry. Plan B is to have a skinny exterior cabinet instead. Next step is to finalize our design and work on the details.

Before

Another hole to see if what is in the sofetts.

After

More holes needed to see if the sofetts can be removed. The wires, a/c vent and what ever else is in there have to be relocated somewhere else.

mom's birthday

Mom likes riding in our convertible!!!

The line at our usual lunch spot was very long so we decided to try Sage.We had dinner here once before and lunch was just as good. Can't wait to come back again. Everything we ate was very good. Mom and Jeff especially liked watching Tiger Woods play golf on TV.
