Happy St. Patty's day!!!

brian, daisy and marissa came to visit for the weekend. marissa had one main goal in mind... to have lunch at her favorite place. lawry's carvery. last couple of times she was here, we didn't have time to go or the line was too long....

after a little shopping. next stop sprinkles cupcakes, my favorite. we have been trying to get marissa to sprinkles forever. the day is finally here...

i wanted marissa to try my favorite cupcakes. the line was long and i think she was wondering it it was really worth the wait. i told her it was... the rest is history...

we got 4 to take home and one to try. it was a green velvet, in honor of st. patty's day.

eww... it's very moldy looking green. not pretty. marissa called it shrek....

OMG!!! It was the best cupcake ever. marissa is now a sprinkles lover, just like me. uncle jeff had to get back in line and get 2 more for marissa to take back to school. while in line he was trying to pick up two old ladies by telling them the cupcakes were so good he is in line for seconds!!! too funny. It was a great day with marissa. we miss you and love you and look forward to another day of good eats...

anniversary burger

for our 19th anniversary dinner we went to the counter.

a burger place in irvine that we have been dying to try.

we waited a long time for this and it was worth it...

you build your own burger from the choices provided.

just check the boxes. Very interesting.

onion rings and sweet potato fries 50/50 with 3 sauces

jeff's burger. 1/3 pound beef, sharp provolone cheese, fried onion strings, lettuce, tomato, carrots, a wheat bun and mayo on the side. he proclaimed it to be the best burger ever!!! he can't wait to go back. in fact we went back the next weekend. he got the exact same thing and loved it!!!

my choice. 1/3 pound beef, blue cheese, fried onion strings, lettuce, carrots, tomato, a bun and garlic aoli on the side. it was really good but the blue cheese was a little strong. if you get a chance to go we highly recommend it. check out the website:

lastly, i made cupcakes. they were extra yummy. a very good anniversary...

last weekend we decided to work on our sad garden.
